What areas of Phoenix do you service?
We service the metro Phoenix area, focusing in the Northwest to Southwest valley regions.
Where do services occur?
We provide home-based and tele-health services, meaning that services occur in your home.
How do I know if my child needs feeding therapy?
Your child may benefit from feeding therapy if they demonstrate refusal behaviors around feeding, are picky eaters, have a history of poor weight gain, or have difficulty chewing or breaking down food. Signs that an infant may benefit from feeding therapy include long feeding times, bottle aversion, coughing/choking with liquids, or difficulty with extraction of liquids from the bottle. Consider completing this survey Feeding Matters – Infant and Child Feeding Questionnaire© to better understand your child's feeding habits and potential needs.
What is the benefit of home-based and tele-health services?
Home based services can meet the unique needs of each child and family while working with them in their natural environment that is familiar and comfortable. Your therapist can suggest environmental modifications that may be difficult to provide without assessing the child's skills in his home environment. Items common to your home can be utilized to target evidence-based strategies and techniques leading to increased carryover and generalization of skills.
Do you accept my insurance?
At this time, Bottles and First Bites is private pay only. Payment is due 24 hours prior to service. We do accept payment via Health Savings Account Card.
A detailed receipt can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. If you choose to submit a receipt for reimbursement, it is recommended that you contact your insurance company to determine if you will need a referral or prior authorization.
I have recently had a feeding evaluation completed. Do I have to complete another one?
We understand that obtaining ongoing services in the valley is difficult. We will accept a feeding evaluation completed by a different facility/clinician within the following time frames:
Birth- 12 months: Evaluation must have been completed within the past 3 months.
1-12 years old: Evaluation must have been completed in the past 6 months.
If you have questions regarding this policy, please reach out to us directly.
What is the frequency of services?
Frequency will vary based on the needs and circumstances of each child and family. After the initial evaluation, we will work with you to determine if weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly services are best. We understand that waitlists can delay initiating ongoing services and want to bridge the gap in care while you wait to begin ongoing therapy.
